I received my Ph.D. and M.Sc. in mathematics at UBC. The topic of my Ph.D. thesis was in the area of Group actions on Riemann surfaces. I am currently the Director of Research and Development at Galdos Systems Inc, a Vancouver based software company where I held an NSERC Industrial Research Fellowship. Research at Galdos involves XML processing, computational topology, graph theory, cartographic (monodromy) groups, relational algebra and information architecture. Selected contributions to research and teaching are summarized in my cv.
In my own spare time I enjoy oil painting, click here to view an early attempt. The one painting I've posted here is an indication of how much spare time I have :-). I also like to play the piano and cello. My hobbies include building computers and carpentry.
